The applicable legal basis in each individual case is specified in the following sections of this privacy policy.
Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

You have the right to receive data that is processed automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request direct transfer of data to another responsible party, this will only occur as far as technically feasible.
SSL / TLS Encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the change of the browser address line from "http://" to "https://" and the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
If SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data transmitted cannot be read by third parties.
What Data Your Browser Transmits When Accessing the Site
To provide the website technically, your browser automatically sends certain information to the server each time a page is accessed. This only includes unavoidable connection and protocol data required for delivering a web page:
- URL accessed, including any query parameters
- Date and time of the request
- Your IP address (network identifier)
- HTTP headers such as browser type/version ("User-Agent"), language settings, referrer
- Already set cookies, e.g., the Klaro consent cookie
Content you enter in the editor or anonymize is not sent to the server—the processing occurs entirely locally in the browser. Forms (e.g., PayPal donations) are transmitted directly to the respective provider and are not routed through servers.
3. Hosting, Access Data, and Server Logs
When you visit my website, certain technical data is automatically collected. This transmission is necessary so that the site can be displayed at all and operated securely. Your browser sends this information to my server with each page request.
Collected Data Includes:
- Your IP address
- The page from which you came to my website
- The accessed URL
- Date and time of page access
- Operating system and browser type of your device (User-Agent)
Collecting this data only means that the server technically processes it to deliver the website. It does not automatically mean all data is permanently stored. Some information may be stored in server log files, which is solely for secure operation of the website—for example, to detect technical errors, prevent attacks, or identify unusual usage. Without transmitting your IP address, website delivery would not be technically possible. Stored log data is, unless otherwise stated, kept for a maximum of seven days and used exclusively for:
- Stable connection to the website
- Secure and reliable usage
- Detection and defense against disruptions or attacks
- Statistical evaluation for technical purposes
- General system administration
Data from server logs is not merged with other personal data, nor is it used to draw conclusions about your identity.
The legal basis for processing this access data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable, and technically flawless operation of the website.
This website is hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) by an external hosting provider: Hostinger International Ltd., Vilnius, Lithuania. The server is located in Germany (Frankfurt). Hostinger provides the server infrastructure and processes personal data only on behalf of the website operator and based on an order processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
Purpose of Processing
- Provision and security of the website
- Operation of technical infrastructure (VPS, web server, DDoS protection, monitoring)
- Storage and delivery of website content
Data That May Be Processed
- IP addresses
- Timestamps and access data (server logs)
- Meta and communication data (e.g., browser type, operating system, referrer)
- If available: contents from forms or support requests
Storage Duration
- Technically necessary server logs are usually automatically deleted by the hosting provider after 7–30 days.
- Other personal data is only stored as long as necessary for the respective purpose or legal retention obligations exist.
Your Rights
- Hostinger provides the server infrastructure and acts as a processor under the instructions of the website operator.
- The website operator has administrative control over the VPS and is responsible for configuring and managing the server logs.
- For questions regarding processing or asserting your rights, contact the website operator directly (see contact details under Responsible Party).
The legal basis for hosting is the legitimate interest in secure and efficient provision of the online service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where applicable, contractual necessities under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Further information on data protection at Hostinger can be found at https://www.hostinger.com/privacy-policy.
4. Special Features of This Website
Text Anonymization
Important: The text anonymization tool processes all data locally in your browser. This means:
- No texts are transmitted to servers
- No data is stored
- All processing occurs exclusively on your device
- There is no access to the texts you enter
Anonymization is carried out entirely client-side. Your data never leaves your device and is not shared with third parties.
Technical Details: Upon loading the page, a JavaScript engine
(anonymizer.min.js) and a static reference dataset (e.g., lists of first and last
names, cities, months) are loaded into your browser. When you enter or paste text into the editor,
this engine works directly in the browser: it scans the text using regex patterns and comparison
lists, replaces any personal data with placeholders, and updates mappings in a local table. No
network requests are made—neither for the input text nor the generated labels. Manually assigned
labels also remain entirely on your device, as all processing occurs locally via the JavaScript
component.
Google AdSense
This website uses Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland / Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to display advertisements. AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to analyze website usage, deliver personalized ads, and prevent fraud.
The information collected (e.g., IP address, browser information, usage data) may be processed on Google servers in the USA. Google relies on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR. Your consent also includes potential transfer to countries without an adequate level of data protection under Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR.
Legal Basis: Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time via the cookie banner or opt-out at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Cookies can also be deactivated in your browser. Further information is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Contact (Email & Feature Request)
When you contact me via email or the "Feature Request" link, I process the information you voluntarily provide:
- Name (if provided)
- Email address
- Content of your message and any attachments
- Metadata of the communication (timestamps, mail server information)
Purpose of Processing: Handling your request, follow-up questions, and documentation of feature requests. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual communication) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient response).
Your message will be stored only as long as necessary for processing or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time, provided no legal obligations prevent it.
5. Data Storage
The text editor operates entirely locally. No content or personal data from the editor is stored on servers. When accessing the page, technical log data (e.g., IP address, timestamp) is generated by the hosting provider; this is used solely to ensure operation and is automatically deleted. Only cookies or scripts from Google AdSense are included, which may set their own cookies and collect usage statistics. Details are available in Google's privacy policies.
Payment Processing via PayPal
A PayPal donation button is integrated on the site. By clicking the button, a connection to PayPal is established, and technical data (e.g., IP address, browser, and device information) is transmitted to PayPal. PayPal may also set cookies necessary for the payment function, such as session management and fraud prevention.
Legal Basis: Processing occurs under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR because providing the donation function is not possible without PayPal, and users can expect data transfer to PayPal when using the button.
Responsible Service Provider:
PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg
Further information on data processing by PayPal can be found in PayPal's privacy policy. Via the cookie banner, you can decide whether optional PayPal pixels (e.g., for fraud prevention) are loaded. The donation function is available even without additional tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
You generally have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of access to stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Important Note: Since the text anonymization tool operates entirely locally in your browser and no editor content is transmitted to servers, no personal data is processed from using the tool. The only technically generated data are:
- Server logs at the hosting provider: Automatically deleted; not directly accessible or deletable. Contact the hosting provider if needed.
- Browser cookies: Stored locally in your browser (e.g., Klaro consent, Google AdSense) and can be deleted at any time via browser settings or the cookie banner.
For questions regarding the collection, processing, or use of your personal data, for access, correction, blocking, or deletion of data, or revocation of given consents, please contact the address provided in the imprint.
